I lived in Winchester's Labor & Delivery unit for most of August 2019. Throughout that time I met many wonderful nurses, but the one that most stands out is Kim Palmer. Kim is one to go above and beyond and made me feel more like family than just another patient.
During my extended stay, Kim got to know my husband and children, as we were expecting triplets, making our family of 4 quickly turn into a party of 7! Kim made bows/hats for my 5-year-old daughter's dolls and gave my 3-year-old son bulb syringes for water bottles in the bathtub. She gave me a reusable tumbler so I didn't have to use/fill-up the Styrofoam cups a hundred times a day. She checked on me all the time, even when I wasn't her patient for the day.
When they scheduled my C-section, Kim was to be off but planned on coming in any way just to be there for me. Unfortunately, the triplets decided to make their arrival a couple of days early and Kim couldn't make it in. She did call before I went into the operating room and wished us good luck! This is just a small snippet of the above and beyond care Kim provides!
Kim also offered to print pictures of my older children to decorate my room during my long stay. And, when she and the nurses were ordering food for delivery she would ask me if I wanted anything from the restaurant.
After the triplets arrived, I saw Kim in the hallway and she gave me the best hug! She is a wonderful nurse and an amazing person! I loved it when she would visit me in my room and we'd just talk about "The Office". It was really hard being away from family that long but Kim made it so much easier. She also helped me be there for my daughter's first day of kindergarten, despite me being hospitalized.
I don't know if Kim will ever understand how much everything she did for me means to me. She has truly touched my heart! Thank you doesn't seem like enough. She's simply the BEST!
