My mom went to the ER with a 103 fever, a UTI, and cellulitis. Her blood pressure tanked. She was diagnosed with sepsis and went to the ICU. Mom, age 92, was scared, but Nurse Kellie was so patient and compassionate. She got close and spoke loudly so my nearly deaf mom could hear her. She knows her stuff! Nurse Kellie explained to us three adult kids what the sepsis protocol was and eased our minds that Mom would be ok with this treatment. My mom has often commented in the past couple of years that she has felt dismissed by many medical professionals who have written her off as too old to save or help. But not Kellie. She was so loving, attentive, and a great nurse!
