Our 101-year-old aunt spent 13 days as a patient at the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Parkersburg. She was sent there for rehab after surgery for a broken hip. When my sister and I arrived and made our way in to see our aunt, Kiairra Lucas was a welcoming face. She was a big help in navigating our way through the facility. We could tell that she was very concerned about our aunt. She'd stop by regularly to check on our aunt, as well as make sure we had whatever help or information we needed.

One day, we were trying to locate our aunt's doctor, and Kiairra walked with us through the facility to help us find him. During our aunt's stay, we were faced with some tough decisions. Kiairra was a great comfort and a good listener. She showed us all great compassion and genuine care for our aunt's well-being. Kiairra made us feel seen and heard as we faced the most difficult decision we had to make. We want you to know that Kiairra is an "exceptional nurse" and you are so very lucky to have her. It's obvious that she takes her career very seriously. She works as a nurse because it's her calling and something she's very passionate about, not just a job. She truly cares about all of the patients and their families. She treats them all the way she would want her family to be treated. Thank you!
