Recently, Khulan identified a patient who was in the waiting room and struggling to breathe. This was right at the end of her shift. She did the right thing and stayed with the patient and provider until the patient was stabilized. This came at a cost to her as she worked later than what was expected by her family. But it made all the difference. This is reflective of the nurse that she is. When caregivers go beyond what is expected of them because they have a strong sense of duty and responsibility, it speaks directly to their true character. This is who Khulan is.

Providing healthcare is challenging. Nurses see and care for patients who are at their emotional extremity. Staff caring for patients are also often at their emotional extremity due to the demands from work and personal life. I would have a hard time knowing if Khulan struggles with this because, despite stressors, she performs. She is a team builder. She is dedicated to doing what is right for the patient. She has courage and determination, but is also flexible and eager to learn. She is a wonderful asset to our team. If she were caring for one of my loved ones in the hospital, I would know that I could relax because, in Khulan's hands, they have safety and a true advocate. Thank you!
