After a missed miscarriage and multiple failed doses of Cytotec, I had to be scheduled for a D&C. After weeks of dealing with this traumatic experience, I was overwhelmed and ready for it all to be over with. My D&C was somewhat sudden, and I was anxious about it. From the moment she walked into my pre-op room, Khristan put me at ease. She looked me in the eyes, expressed how sorry she was that I was going through this, and understood how ready I was for this to be over. While everyone else was prepping me for surgery, she asked me questions about my family, continued reassuring me, and held my hand as the anesthesiologist put me under. Khristan may have been my nurse for only a short time, but I'll never forget the genuine care she showed me on one of the hardest days of my life. I'm so grateful for her.
