I wanted to nominate Kevin for the DAISY Award because of the exceptional extra care he takes with the patients at the Cancer Center. He never gets excited, never gets rushed. He’s always very, very patient, but Kevin has also gone above and beyond with a few of our patients. He recognised that one of our patients didn’t have a decent pair of shoes, so Kevin went out on his own and bought the gentleman a good pair of boots so that he could keep his feet warm during the wet and cold months.

Kevin also had a family member who was in a nursing home, and when he realized one of the other patients in that home was one of ours, he took extra time to make sure that that patient got her favorite DiCarlo’s pizza while she was there, something he picked up on while she was sitting in our office getting a treatment. These are the reasons that I feel Kevin should be nominated as a DAISY; not only does he give good nursing care, but he's also got a heart of gold.
