I told her that day, and I meant it; she truly puts the care in Healthcare.
Kerisa restored my faith in healthcare. She has compassionate bedside nursing care and truly cares about not only her patient but also her patient's family. My mother’s journey in the hospital was not easy, but she made the hard better.
My mother loved to take showers and baths frequently and be clean, but she was too weak to do it herself, like she used to. Kerisa didn’t skip a beat and told her she would treat her to a “Spa Day”. She pampered her like “ the Queen I am,” as my mother stated. She played my mom’s favorite music, laughed, and talked about my dad, who had recently passed. My mother looked so beautifully rested and peaceful.
Unfortunately, Kerisa was not there when my mother passed that night, but first thing in the morning, she stopped in to check on me. I’m so grateful to Kerisa because my name wasn't on the paperwork at the hospital, even though I was the only contact for my mom. I guess I forgot to update it. Kerisa asked my mom if she could use her cell phone to get my number to call and update me, as well as put me on file.
Her phone call was the reason I booked it down to Brownwood to be bedside. I may not have been there if it weren’t for her. I told her that day, and I meant it; she truly puts the care in Healthcare. She's compassionate, caring, and loves her patients. You can’t teach that in a Med book. That’s from within.
Thank you for everything you did.
