Kendra is always there with a story of encouragement, she is on top of the latest treatment trends, and she has the ability to take a difficult period and having you leave refreshed!
I have been under the nursing care of Ms. Johnson for over 5 years now, so this nomination comes with a five year sustained history. Ms. Johnson is without a doubt the epitome of the finest nursing care available. She is always cheerful and upbeat. Ms. Johnson is always affirming and gentle, and she has the ability to make you feel upbeat too after talking with her, which is quite a feat considering the patients/customers she is dealing with. I have gone into the infusion center downbeat, frustrated, worried, and just feeling like there is no end to the difficulties- and with no exception I leave feeling encouraged, more cheerful and positive, and renewed with patience. She is always there with a story of encouragement, she is on top of the latest treatment trends, and she has the ability to take a difficult period and having you leave refreshed! I've seen that she has an open heart to all her patients, but yet can make you feel that taking care of you is the single most important thing that she is doing all day! Somehow Kendra can remember your family members by name, ask about how they are all doing, and a month later can pick up right where she left off. Her care is really beyond outstanding.
She is so caring and so engaging with me and my family (and other patients it seems), that the monthly visit now seems like a social visit with an old dear friend from high school or college, oh yes!, and I happen to be getting an infusion that day....how does she do that!?
If one was to ask me to describe the perfect nurse I would have to say that in 64 years I know of NO ONE who can match the heart-felt care of Ms. Kendra Johnson. To say 'she is the best' is trivial and trite in the reality of her nursing performance. It would actually cross my mind to consider switching hospitals should she transfer locally- I probably wouldn't, but I would think about it. For those of us dealing with multi-year UC issues, Kendra is the 'front line' of care. There is no finer nurse that I have ever met. Finally, it's important to remember that most nurses like Kendra can administer an IV, the psychological uplifting is a gift few people have like Ms. Johnson. It often seems to do more for me than medicine.
