The family was frustrated that they couldn't get information about their family member. Kelsey reviewed the patient's labs and contacted the provider. She reached out to update the family, and as the nominator stated, she was frustrated and not very nice to Kelsey when she called. When they came in to visit later, and Kelsey discussed the plan for the patient and addressed their concerns, they felt better. The family noted that Kelsey didn't take it to heart and that their grandfather liked her and trusted her. The nominator wrote, "She went above and beyond. If she had not looked over the labs and contacted the provider, the UTI would have been missed." "We are grateful she was on the floor that day; what a loving, caring nurse she is and well-deserves the DAISY Award."
