Kelly is an RN with whom I have worked for the past year and a half. On this particular shift, we had never worked harder for each other to keep our heads above water during a very challenging time. In simple terms, while I struggled to care for a very sick ICU patient, Kelly took the reins and assumed responsibility for my patients. Alongside this, Kelly assisted me by ensuring I had all the necessary services, supplies, and additional staff support to care for this complex patient. Kelly continued to support and care for the other patients until I was able to stabilize and transfer my critically ill patient to the ICU. Even after my return from the ICU, Kelly went above and beyond to help as new patients came into our assignments. In a line of work that can be overwhelming at times, both physically and mentally, Kelly was my rock, and I cannot express my gratitude enough for her dedication to her coworkers and the patients she cares for. I am immensely proud to work alongside Kelly. She is truly one of a kind.
