I went into the ER for abdominal pain. I neglected to go in sooner because I avoid the doctor at all costs. When the nurse came in, I was in excruciating pain, chills, and could hardly speak a full sentence. She let me know the timeline of things, how long I’d wait, and how long it would take for results or to get procedures done.

Once I had meds ordered for pain and nausea, she got me warm blankets, covered me, took my sweater off, and got me comfortable so I could rest. Kellie was a very thorough nurse with her patient education and showed so much sympathy towards me. It makes a difference when you don’t want to go to the doctor, and when you do go, you have a great experience with a great nurse. She immediately stood out as a good, caring nurse and well above the normal nurse skills. You can teach a person to be a nurse, but the sympathetic, caring, and comforting nurse is something that one can’t teach. It’s unique, and not everyone has it in them.
