We have had a patient with a language barrier and dementia and Ke signed up for several overtime shifts to be here for the patient.
Ke always goes above and beyond the expected responsibilities of a WakeMed nurse. Recently she set the bar extremely high when she went out of her way to make sure a patient was comfortable and provided familiarity during unprecedented COVID times. This particular patient was non-English speaking and while the use of the Language Line is always readily available, having someone to converse within one's familiar language can put one at ease. With COVID preventing visitors, this patient was unable to have family members at the bedside. Ke took it upon herself to pick up multiple extra shifts during this patient's stay to provide the patient peace of mind and feeling of being at home. Ke is someone I would be fortunate and blessed to have as any of my family member's nurse. She encompasses all that nurses should be and more!

Ke was a sitter for my patient and was so much help. She went above and beyond to take care of my patient and make sure she was comfortable and cared for regardless of the circumstances. Ke, thank you for all that you do!
