Whether faced with an urgent emergency during clinic or a high-stress, demanding day, Kayli always approaches each challenge with grace and focus.
I nominate Kayli for a DAISY Award because she consistently exemplifies the highest standards of care and compassion, providing exceptional support to our patients, their families, and our healthcare team. What sets Kayli apart is her ability to remain calm and composed no matter the situation. Whether faced with an urgent emergency during clinic or a high-stress, demanding day, Kayli always approaches each challenge with grace and focus. This calm demeanor not only reassures our patients but also provides a stabilizing presence for the rest of the team during moments of pressure. Her commitment to patient care is evident in their willingness to go above and beyond, always available to lend a hand or take on extra tasks when needed. Whether it’s assisting with outside tasks or providing a listening ear to a distressed patient, Kayli continuously demonstrates selflessness and dedication.
What truly stands out is how Kayli effectively manages the balancing act of working with high-demand providers while ensuring that patient needs are never compromised. Despite the fast-paced, ever-changing environment, Kayli maintains an exceptional level of organization and communication within our team. Her ability to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a high level of professionalism in every situation is a true asset to our team. Kayli’s compassion, unwavering support, and dedication to both patients and colleagues make her an example of what it means to be a nurse. She also takes the time to listen to her patients, ensuring they feel heard, respected, and supported in their journey toward healing. I can recall a time when I was stumped, caught off guard, and unprepared for a patient who came into our clinic for an incision check and staple removal and had reached out to Kayli for assistance as a second set of eyes. Not only did she not hesitate to help, but she also brought such calming energy and reassured the patient that they were doing okay after all. We were able to get the staples removed, she explained why the incision looked the way it did, reiterated post op instructions and care, and the patient left with a weight lifted off their shoulder and less pain.
The way that she speaks to patients is what you look for whenever you go to the doctor’s office yourself. You seek confidence and support, especially for the type of patients we see in our clinic, and you will get nothing less than that when you are around Kayli. We tend to have many patients who are not English-speaking, and Kayli does not let that become a barrier. She is demonstrating procedures, repeating as needed, and even showing more in-depth steps to ensure the patient understands and is educated about the procedures. She treats everyone as a whole; patients never feel like they are just another number or phone call on her list. To Kayli, nursing is not just about the next referral to triage or the next call to complete on her list; you can tell it is a career she is passionate about. The willingness to always extend her help is greatly appreciated by our patients and staff.
