My nurse, Kayla, is the bright light this clinic needed. Her smile makes it feel like everything will be ok. She is such a kind, warm-hearted person. My husband and I were so scared about starting treatment that we were shaking while sitting in that chair. Here comes this young girl with the sweetest smile, coming toward us, and everything felt ok. She was gentle, and she answered all of our questions. We were actually laughing on our first day, which I didn’t think we would be doing. She made the day go by fast and distracted us from the scary chemo, and by the end of it, she gave me a hug and told us we just accomplished our first treatment, and it’s time to celebrate. In that moment, I knew we would be celebrating every milestone, and she made me realize that. Kayla is one of the best nurses I have ever had. She deserves more than this award, but I’m glad I can give her this.
