My wife needed stat timed labs on Sunday at 10 am. She made an appointment with the Outpatient Lab at the Cancer Center since, according to scheduling, they were open and taking appointments. These labs had to be done at a specific time per her doctor to ensure accuracy. Of course, the lab was closed entirely despite her QR code check-in and registration appointment. Not a single person to help us. Luckily, we were directed to Katrina RN in Infusions, and she immediately said, "That's so hard and absolutely the last thing you need right now." She immediately had my wife in a chair and had her lab slips printed in 2 seconds, and the mission was completed. Thanks to her, my wife was able to calm her nerves a bit, knowing that her labs were taken care of, on time, as her doctor needed.

Both of us work and receive our care through OSF, but have never experienced such heartfelt compassion, personalized care, and genuine kindness like the care Katrina showed. She also showed great skill in drawing my wife's labs quickly and effortlessly, promising us that she would ensure that they would be processed correctly and immediately tubed to the lab. Her focus was more on our inconvenience with scheduling at a lab that was closed and ensuring my wife that the labs would be sent immediately over, without a second thought. Katrina did not need to help us and could have easily shooed us away, but Katrina was the angel that we needed today! I don't think I could have ever found a time when I have been so impressed, nor seen someone so completely living the mission, like today.
