My husband had a stroke at 48 years old. Our 8-year-old daughter was incredibly afraid to see her daddy. My sister, who is a nurse, was going to take our daughter to see her daddy (Mommy isn’t a nurse and she doesn’t know all those things), but wasn’t able to make it back up before she left to go home to Texas.

Katie took my daughter by the hand, walked into my husband's room, and erased all fear in that little girl’s head. They gently touched tubes and wires. Before that, she had talked with my sister and was incredibly caring. She explained things to me in a way my traumatized brain could understand.

Katie was simply the most caring, loving, and concerned nurse I have ever met (And our daughter spent 5 days in the NICU). She listened compassionately and eased my fears, as well as my daughter's. She is AMAZING!
