Katie Krey, RN
We would like to commend Katie Krey for the exceptional care she provided during our traumatic birth experience.
From the very beginning, Katie cared not only for mom and baby, but also for dad and siblings. Even letting our oldest (5-year-old) help with getting footprints and measurements. She even made an extra footprint for her to take to school to show her friends.
Katie immediately noticed how difficult the experience was for me and constantly validated my feelings, never minimizing what I was going through. Every concern we had was taken seriously, and no question ever made us feel stupid or like a burden. Katie went above and beyond in ways that truly mattered. She offered to help with anything and everything- even braiding my hair to keep it out of my face. She always kept us informed about how baby was doing, which helped ease so much anxiety. She brought laughter and light into an incredibly heavy situation, joking with us and helping us feel human again.
When I was having a particularly hard time, Katie stayed right by my side, offering comfort and support when it was needed most. She even stayed longer than her shift to make sure everything was finished, and we were okay before leaving. That meant more to us than words can express.
Katie is an amazing nurse- compassionate, attentive, and deeply dedicated. We will never forget the impact she had on one of the hardest days of our lives, and we are forever grateful for her care.
