She invests so much time in mentoring new nurses as they transition into a high-pressure, high-expectation environment, helping us grow into skilled and confident nurses.
Katie Bramlett truly embodies the core values of the DAISY Award, and it is an honor to nominate her. Katie has been a PICU nurse for many years and has consistently provided high-quality, safe, and compassionate care to her patients. Now, as the educator, she holds her team to those same standards.

Katie is a true mentor, and she is never afraid to jump in and help. Katie is committed to fostering competent, proficient nurses and improving patient outcomes. Katie encourages professional growth for all of our PICU staff and many more.

Katie has expanded our pediatric education series to include additional disciplines and helped bridge the gap between our pediatric departments. Katie is the Chair for our W&C education council, and she has played a monumental role in our new Pediatric Sims Lab and pediatric orientation.

Katie will always go above and beyond to help with anything that is asked of her, and she is not afraid to admit when she does not know the answer. She is supportive and compassionate with her team, and her office door is always open! Countless tears have been shed in her office (both good and bad). We all see and love Katie as a friend, a coworker, and an amazing leader in the PICU. We could not do this job without her!

I would love to nominate Katie because she has truly been such a gift to me during this season of becoming a nurse. As a new grad, this process can feel really overwhelming at times, but she has been a constant source of encouragement through it all. I truly believe the Lord placed her in my life exactly when I needed her most.

Katie leads with such a kind and genuine heart. She is patient, gentle, and always willing to meet you where you are without ever making you feel silly. Even while I was waiting to take my NCLEX, she continued to provide helpful resources and always encouraged me, reminding me to keep going and believe in myself.

She reminds me that nursing is so much more than just a job, but that it’s a calling. The way she cares, teaches, and loves people reflects Christ so clearly. She continually puts others’ needs before her own and is always there, ready to step in and help with whatever needs to be done. No task is too little or too big for her, and she serves with such humility, grace, and joy.

Katie is the kind of educator you always want on your team!!! I am so thankful to be learning and growing under her, and I pray that I can reflect the same compassion and excellence she shows every day!

I’m nominating Katie Bramlett for DAISY Nurse Leader of the Year, because the Pediatric ICU would be lost without her! Katie, our fearless Nurse Educator. She exemplifies excellence through her dedication to education, her unwavering support for staff, and her commitment to delivering the highest-quality care to critically ill children.

In her role as a nurse educator, Katie has made a profound impact on both new and experienced nurses. She creates a learning environment that is supportive, encouraging, and rooted in evidence-based practice. She is always committed to finding an answer or fixing a problem with the patient’s best interests in mind. Her ability to teach and instruct difficult concepts has strengthened the confidence and competence of the entire PICU team. I know if and when I need help, Katie is always there to support, encourage, and guide me through the issue. Katie’s leadership extends far beyond PowerPoint education. She offers coaching during high-acuity situations and ensures that every team member feels prepared and supported. She helps us feel confident in the worst and hardest situations of our careers.

Our Pediatric ICU educator, Katie Bramlett, consistently goes above and beyond for our unit and staff, especially our new hires. Katie recently started the new pediatric orientation for new hires, as well as a pediatric simulation lab. The simulations allow the staff to get hands-on practice in a safe environment. Katie can often be found out in the unit on busy days helping make sure the nurses get lunch! She’s always willing to lend a hand and put her own tasks to the side. Our unit would not run as smoothly and safely without her guidance. We love her!
