Kathleen was absolutely fantastic at my daughter's GI appointment today! We have been going to various providers at various facilities for some time and have never experienced such a lovely, uplifting, and thorough nurse at any of those encounters.

She cracked through my daughter's angsty teen shell, got her not only talking but laughing, and that is a big feat which directly helps her advocate for herself.

Kathleen also came with the after-visit summary and went through it page by page. Even my daughter verbally expressed "You're great, nobody has ever done that for me at any appointment, ever. They just hand it to me and I leave". Kathleen walked her through each step and answered all the questions we had.

As an RN myself, I always quietly watch how they interact, how thorough they are with their questions and assessments, etc. Kathleen blew my mind. She exceeded all my expectations and then some. Coming from a stingy old ICU nurse, that has to count for something!

I tried to put her in for a DAISY, but I couldn't find the QR code anywhere, only the smile code. This isn't just a compliment from a mom; it’s a mind blow from my daughter and I both who found it so refreshing to meet an RN who seems to enjoy her job and is good at it.

She broke through my daughter's shell, which allowed her to feel comfortable speaking up for herself instead of making mom answer all the questions. This was a game changer for a 17-year-old girl who needs to learn to be her own advocate. She boosted her confidence and set a standard she will hold all nurses to in the future.
