Despite the transitions happening around us and her unforeseen medical needs, she has never allowed these circumstances to affect the quality of education or care she provides.
I would like to nominate Professor Kathy Pitman for a DAISY Award in recognition of her unwavering dedication, compassion, and commitment to us, her students, during an especially challenging time.

As our college faces closure, there has been a great deal of uncertainty, change, and emotional strain placed on students. Through it all, Professor Pitman has remained a constant source of stability, support, and encouragement.

Despite the transitions happening around us and her unforeseen medical needs, she has never allowed these circumstances to affect the quality of education or care she provides. She continues to show up fully for her students with a genuine passion for teaching. Her ability to maintain consistency during such an unpredictable time has made a lasting impact on all of us.

More importantly, she recognizes the emotional toll this transition has taken on students and continuously offers reassurance and support. Whether it is through her words of encouragement, extra time spent answering questions, or simply giving feedback on assignments, she reminds us that we are capable of succeeding despite the challenges we face.

Professor Pitman exemplifies what it means to be a nurse educator: resilient, compassionate, and committed to the success of her students.
