Kathy began her journey with Banner in 2007, and after 18 years of dedicated service, she embarks on her well-earned retirement as of today. With over four decades in the nursing field, Kathy has amassed countless accomplishments. Some of those include leading the development of nursing recruitment and nurse extern program at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, being the principal investigator in clinical research evaluating evidence-based pain assessment and management practices in children and adolescents, co-leading the Banner Pediatric Clinical Consensus Group from 2009-2014, and receiving Banner’s Best Spotlight Award for improving clinical outcomes related to inadvertent extubating events and hypothermia in neonates at Banner Desert.

During her time BUMCP, she successfully led acquisition and transition of the 74-bed Level 3 NICU in 60 days, supported the development and continued implementation of nursing clinical ladder for the academic division, implemented of Schwartz rounds, and achieved the facility’s 4th and hopefully soon to be 5th Magnet designation.

Her leadership has been instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence, compassion, and high-quality care. She consistently drove innovation while keeping the values and needs of our patients and teams at the center of every decision. Kathy leaves behind a legacy of integrity, inspiration, and impact — one that will be felt for years to come.
