I was unfortunately hospitalized twice during my pregnancy and fortunately found the best care at the Women’s Specialty Unit of St. Mary’s Hospital. Nurse Katie was the source of friendship, kindness, and warmth during both of my stays. It was an uneasy and anxiety-filled time, and she kept my spirits up with her good conversation. We bonded over being parents of young toddler girls, and she was so kind to my family and friends who would visit. My young daughter still talks about Nurse Katie.

My second visit was longer, and she always took the time to make sure I had fresh sheets and everything I needed. On my departure, she made my new baby boy a green blanket (she had remembered that the nursery was going to be green).

While I am so happy to be home, I will always think fondly of the WSU and the care Nurse Katie provided for me!
