I experienced a level 10 pain the first shift after I refused opioids. Kathleen realized I was shaking, hanging on to the top of the bed, and writhing in pain. The pain was from a bladder infection, which I arrived with from another hospital, and urination caused pain on another level, and I had extreme burning and frequency. She phoned the doctor at 0420 am and gave me Tylenol, which helped a level that was easily manageable.

In about 2 hours, the pain level was even lower. She checked on me 3 times during this episode, showing her understanding and concern. She arrived the following night and stopped in to see me before shift exchange. Thank you. I needed your care and fast assistance. She is an exceptional nurse. She was born to be a nurse.
