She considered my feelings and answered every question I had until I was okay.
I was a patient for about a week because I had a liver injury, and I hadn't been to the hospital because I was scared of hospitals. After the first night, she was one of the nurses who took care of me. I was put on a new medication and woke up terrified that something was wrong, so I called her to come help me, and she was there so quickly. She took extra time to examine me and reassure me that everything was okay. She felt like a friend comforting me. She sat there and talked with me to make sure I was okay, despite the fact that she probably had other things that were more important. She considered my feelings and answered every question I had until I was okay. And when I was being discharged I had forgotten my sandals and she personally came down to find me in the pharmacy to return them and told me she is glad she got to say goodbye to me and It melted my heart that she took the effort to remember me.

Katie is always patient-focused. She never seems too rushed to help her patients and takes the time to get to know each one on an individual level. She appreciates the relationships she builds with each one and is able to learn things from them in return. Katie is a great team player, always willing to jump in to help whoever has a need. She has grown a lot in her time as a nurse, recently taking on the preceptor role where she always demonstrates patience, kindness, and caring support for the new staff member.
