Kat was assigned the care of my father for 3 days in a row. The first day Kat was with us, we had a hard conversation with the doctors about the future. Kat was such a calming and positive presence. We had expressed to her, as a family, our concerns about our father not eating. Kat ordered him food and made it light-hearted about how he should eat. She was there for him but for us as well. We brought in pictures from his grandchildren that Kat immediately hung up. She was patient and kind and exactly what he and we needed. We will never be able to say thank you to her properly. In nominating Kat for a DAISY Award, we are recognizing that she exemplifies what it means to be compassionate, caring, and clinically proficient. We thank you, Kat, from the bottom of our hearts! The future of nursing is brighter with you in it!
