Karri Birtwhistle, RN
I would like to proudly recognize Karri for the extraordinary compassion, kindness, and support demonstrated during the hospitalization of my son. He was admitted with norovirus and, at 20 years old, was the youngest patient on the floor. He has Down syndrome and Autism, which can make unfamiliar medical environments overwhelming and stressful.
From the moment Karri met my son, Karri demonstrated extraordinary compassion and understanding, going above and beyond to ensure he felt safe, comfortable, and valued. Through patience, kindness, and thoughtful gestures tailored to his interests and needs, Karri transformed what could have been a frightening experience into one filled with comfort and reassurance.
Karri's dedication not only eased my son's anxiety but also provided peace of mind to our family during a challenging time. This exceptional level of personalized care exemplifies the very best of patient-centered service and deserves special recognition.
Karri brought him thoughtful gifts, including a basket filled with activities, coloring books featuring his favorite character, Spider-Man, and a stuffed animal. These gestures may seem small, but they brought him immense comfort and joy during a difficult time. More importantly, Karri's genuine care, patience, and kindness helped ease his anxiety and made him feel safe and supported.
