Karen Kleinschmidt, M.Ed., BSN, RN, NCSN

Karen strives to ensure that the district nurses have the tools needed to provide the best care for our community. Karen arranged for the district to fund at least one AED in every building. She has arranged for several of the district nurses to become CPR instructors so that several staff members in each building can be trained in CPR with the expectation that there will always be someone in each building to respond to an adverse cardiac event. As we navigate through the whole COVID crisis, Karen was and continues to be the glue that holds us together. She provides emotional support and nursing coverage as needed. She arranged multiple vaccine clinics for staff and then the community as vaccines became available. She also arranged for each school to have its own BD Veritor Covid antigen testing units to test our students and staff before home test kits were available.
