Karen listened to our concerns about antibiotic treatment and effectively communicated our preference for bolus feeding over continuous feeding to the doctors.
I am nominating Karen for the exceptional care of my dad. My dad was battling a serious infection and was completely bedbound. Karen went above and beyond the call of duty in the following ways:
Advocacy and communication: Karen listened to our concerns about antibiotic treatment and effectively communicated our preference for bolus feeding over continuous feeding to the doctors. This advocacy ensured my dad’s care plan aligned with our wishes.
Physical rehabilitation and safety: Despite my dad being bed-bound, Karen was determined to help him regain some mobility. Karen coordinated the use of a Hoyer lift to get him safely into a chair for two hours. This is crucial for his physical and mental well-being.
Patient first: Karen recognized that my dad’s condition requires more support. She took the initiative to request a better, more suitable bed for him. This made a significant difference in his comfort and care.
Compassion and kindness: Karen’s consideration extended to the whole family. She frequently stopped by to see if I needed any help and would bring me hot water, towels, etc. Karen is patient, considerate, and highly professional. We are deeply grateful for the dignity and expert care she provided to my dad.
