Kara from wound care had been seeing a patient for her stay of 20 days. Kara has been with this patient with each of her stays due to her wounds from radiation therapy. Kara has been there for this patient during raw times, literally.

This particular patient and family were worried about her going home and whether they could care for their mother. Kara took the time to walk this patient around the halls, help her shower, and, of course, educate her on her new ostomy. It helped build the patient's and the family members' confidence in caring for their mother and new lifestyle changes.

It was a busy day on the division, and Kara just stepped up and offered without hesitation. She has been a great addition to St. Luke's Hospital and to our division.
