Upon first admittance, Kara came to my room and told me how glad she was that I was here and reassured me that I was in the right place. This may sound surprising, but nobody does that! I have been to Cleveland Clinic, Houston Headache Clinic and numerous others and no one has ever told me that I am in good hands and welcome. She went on daily with sincerity and a true empathy that was not job mandated, but I could see was part of her core make-up, even after 10 years as a nurse.
When I was having bad moments, Kara's hand would go to her heart, and she would look so sad for me and ask how she could help. I could sometimes hear her with other patients and she was exactly the same, a born care-giver. She is a gift to your hospital and your patients. After 15 years of chronic illness, this is the first time I have written a note of praise for one of my care givers. Kara is a gift.

Kara is a great and inspirational person who kept me laughing. She would easily distract me from my IV meds with laughter, which I much appreciated. She is kind, caring, and put up with my shenanigans. All of the nurses have been so wonderful but Kara is one who really stands out.

Kara was my admitting nurse and she cared for me with excellence. She gave great IVs, she listened to me and she supported me as I was sad. Her presence entirely transformed my stay here. She is gifted, empathetic and kind.
