I would like to nominate Kaitlynn for the DAISY Award because she embodies the true spirit of nursing...quiet strength, compassion, reliability, and a genuine heart for patient care. When I first started working on this unit, I did not know Kaitlynn well. We did not have a close connection at first, but I observed her every shift, and it did not take long for me to see the kind of nurse... and the kind of person... she truly is. Kaitlynn consistently arrives early, often sitting in the breakroom reading before the shift even begins. She starts every shift with calm focus and purpose. Whether the unit is steady or chaotic, she approaches her work with grace and positivity. One thing that immediately stood out to me was that she never complains. Not once. She takes on hard patient assignments without hesitation and without ever asking to switch. She simply gets to work...professionally, confidently, and compassionately.

During her three-day stretches, she shows up each night with the same dedication and energy, as if it's just another day to give her very best. You will never see her idle or overwhelmed; instead, she steps in, supports others, and makes the team stronger. She helps without being asked, anticipates needs before anyone voices them, and remains steady even on the busiest days. Her work ethic is truly exceptional. However, what makes Kaitlynn special goes far beyond her technical skills. She is incredibly compassionate toward her patients and their families. She treats each person with respect, empathy, and a gentle presence that makes them feel safe and understood. Families trust her. Patients remember her long after they are no longer under her care. They often look for her, even when she is no longer their nurse, because she leaves that kind of impact... with kindness that lingers.

Kaitlynn is the kind of nurse I would want to care for me if I were ever in the hospital. Her compassion, her calm strength, and her genuine dedication are exactly what any patient hopes to experience. She cares with her heart, and it shows in every interaction.
