While many have done a very good job, I can tell you without a doubt that Kaitlyn stands above them all in terms of skill, compassion, confidence, humility, and thoroughness.
My wife was in a horrific car accident and has a multitude of subsequent issues that have made her case complex and challenging. After successfully and somewhat miraculously being removed from a ventilator, she was transferred to a step-down room and eventually to 6-Ortho.
On what I believe was her 16th day in the hospital, we had the privilege of getting Kaitlyn as her nurse. Though we were pleased overall with her care, Kaitlyn stood out in a way no other nurse had. Her attention to detail and genuine compassion for patients, coupled with her ability to advocate swiftly and effectively, led to a critical surgery that likely would not have occurred otherwise.
Kaitlyn thoroughly evaluated my wife and noted an unusual inability to move her legs and feet. She explained her concerns calmly and succinctly and quickly escalated the concerns to the appropriate care teams without causing any unnecessary worry. I cannot adequately express how much Kaitlyn's intentionality and decisiveness have meant to me and my family as we continue to navigate this challenging situation.
I have spent countless hours by my wife's side and have had the privilege of watching many different nurses observe and care for my wife. While many have done a very good job, I can tell you without a doubt that Kaitlyn stands above them all in terms of skill, compassion, confidence, humility, and thoroughness. It is evident she has found her calling, and we feel blessed she was assigned to care for my wife when she did.
It came at a critical time that continues to make me, my wife, and our family feel very blessed. It is my hope that Kaitlyn can be recognized because she serves as an exceptional example of the nursing expertise and personality traits required to make a genuine difference in the lives of the people who are in a challenging place.
