When I think of the ideal nursing student, I think of Kaitlyn. Despite the various challenges she has faced while in school, she maintained the dedication and determination to persevere. She always comes to class or clinical on time, ready and without complaints. This attitude to excel is also reflected in the clinical setting. 

During a clinical rotation, a patient did not have a ride home following discharge. Despite the efforts made by case management, the patient's ride service plan fell through. Kaitlyn took it upon herself to talk to the patient and arrange a ride home. She personally called the patient's family member and established a pick-up time. The patient was able to return home that day and at a reasonable time, thanks to Kaitlyn's efforts. 

Kaitlyn is determined to provide safe and effective care. She will exceed all expectations as a nurse.
