Kaela truly made a difference in a situation that could have easily gone another way. She was taking care of a patient who was refusing his medications and the procedure he needed. It wasn’t just a simple refusal either — the patient was firm in not wanting any part of it. It became such a challenge that even the Multidisciplinary team had to escalate the situation to leadership for support.

Through all of this, Kaela stayed steady. She didn't give up. Instead of letting the patient’s refusal frustrate her, she took the time to really sit down with him, listen to his concerns, and walk him through why it was important to reconsider. Her approach wasn’t rushed or forced; she met him where he was and kept the focus on what would help him get better.
