Kaci Clifton, RN
Nurse Kaci Clifton saved my baby's life, and quite possibly my own. I arrived at the hospital on a Monday morning at 7:33 am with vaginal bleeding and contractions. I was 31 weeks pregnant and had been diagnosed with preeclampsia the previous Friday. I had called on my way there to let them know I was coming.
Before I even arrived, Kaci read my file and was prepared to meet me. As soon as she saw me, she stepped into quick action. She had me on a monitor at 7:37 am, and my baby was out by 8:00 am on the dot. Kaci knew immediately that I was experiencing a placenta abruption. Her knowledge, quick action, and calmness helped bring my baby into the world safely. Kaci then spent the next two days taking incredible care of me. I developed HELLP syndrome, my platelets got down into the 40s, and my kidney and liver function dropped significantly. Kaci nursed me back to health, helped get me to and from the NICU to see my baby, and was so kind to me and my family. I know this was just another day at work for Kaci, but she truly saved my family. I will forever be grateful for her!
