Juvy was the RN at Banner Heart Hospital on the 4th floor, where my husband was a patient. My husband had quadruple open heart surgery 4 weeks prior to this visit. I brought him to the ER at 5am, because he was having chest pain. It turned out that he had a mini heart attack, so he was admitted and taken into surgery for a stent. 

After the surgery was performed, my husband was taken up to the CPCU for a few days. Since we were just at this hospital only 4 weeks ago, I know that every one of the nurses here was great, but Juvy was a step above all the others. She was so nice, funny, and compassionate in taking care of my husband. She was right there to accommodate any needs we had. She constantly checked on him and performed all tests, etc. Juvy didn’t just expect the CNA to do all the menial jobs; she had no problem doing everything for him! Juvy was so amazing, and we were very lucky that she was there with us, 3 days in a row!

This was such a rare and stressful thing that my husband went through, and Juvy made sure that his stay was as comfortable as possible, considering the circumstances. Juvy paged the doctor for us when we couldn’t get ahold of him. We obviously had a lot of questions about how and why this happened so soon after his open-heart surgery, and Juvy wanted to make sure we got all of our questions answered by the doctor. 

Juvy contacted the doctor when we asked for a different medication. She was on top of everything my husband needed. She had a lot of patients to attend to, all three days we were there, but we never felt like she wasn’t available to us. Juvy is amazing and you can just tell that she loves her job. She was even training a new RN to the floor, in the middle of everything else she had to do. She worked her booty off! 

All Banner nurses are great, but Juvy was so impressive that I wanted to take the time to nominate her for the DAISY Award. Please tell her that we thought she was an absolute jewel and that she works hard every day. She is appreciated!
