After arriving at Kessler following carotid artery surgery, a patient was frightened, confused, and struggling to cope with the effects of anesthesia. Despite medications and reassurance from others, she continued to feel unsettled. Seeing her distress, Justice partnered with colleagues to create a personalized poster designed to comfort and orient her.

That strategy succeeded where other interventions had not, according to the patient, bringing her a sense of calm and helping her through a difficult recovery. She described the poster as a "treasure" and praised the team's creativity and compassion and Justice’s commitment to providing excellent patient care. “The poster was hung in my room so I could see it when I woke up in the morning,” said the patient. “It oriented me for the day; it did miracles.”
