I’m an MVA trauma survivor who was ejected with entrapment. We spent over a month in Inova Fairfax with leu degloving. And left facial degloving injuries. We are currently in Inova Alexandria for facial reconstruction and free flap surgery. Over the past 2 months, I've had 15 surgical procedures, been under anesthesia 9 times, 12 blood transfusions, free flap surgery, skin graft, and over 180 blood tests. I feel that I have more areas of my body that are currently wounds and operation sites than I have skin undisturbed. It has been painful and uncomfortable to say the least. I realize that sometimes my well-being takes precedence over my comfort. Some nurses do a very nice job of balancing both needs and comfort. Today I'm recognizing Julie for doing just that. Her delicate touch and sweet disposition have not only catered to my many complicated comfort needs but also proven that she truly cares about her patients. Thank you so very much for what has felt like a break from my pain and anxiety.
