My husband and I are deeply grateful for the nursing care we received from Julia when I experienced a pregnancy loss. Not only was she an incredibly skilled and brilliant nurse, but she also repeatedly took the time to be present with us and show us grace, compassion, and kindness. She provided a healing environment for us and ensured that we had ample time and a sacred space to spend our last moments with our baby. As a labor nurse, she ordinarily helps families welcome new babies into the world. We were deeply touched by how seamlessly Julia switched gears and helped us mourn the loss of our baby. She laughed with us, cried with us, and really allowed us to feel held and cared for during one of the most difficult times in our lives. We will never forget her kindness.
