Joycelyn was very kind and patient through everything with a beautiful attitude towards anything going on, always smiling, always attentive.
I am a 42-year-old patient with upper respiratory problems. I came in on Saturday afternoon to the ER and was brought up to the fifth floor. Here is where I met Joycelyn, a beautiful nurse with a very beautiful heart. I was paired up with an 85-year-old patient with dementia, and every time that we called her or rang the bell, she came right away. Joycelyn was very kind and patient through everything with a beautiful attitude towards anything going on, always smiling, always attentive.
Joycelyn works the overnight shift, and she’s tired but still gets through the night with a smile on her face and is happy to help. I really appreciate her bedside manner. My neighbor woke up with a nightmare and was trying to run off her bed, but had a bad foot with an ulcer. I heard her screaming, and I had a BiPAP on, so I jumped up to make sure she was OK, and she has a monitor watching her 24 hours a day. They told her to make sure she stays in bed, so that was a good help too.
As soon as I rang the bell and went to the door, the nurse came in immediately, and we both made sure that she was OK, and she felt better just because of how sweet and soothing the nurse spoke to her. I think one nurse should be like her, patient, kind, and caring, no matter what is thrown in front of them. Jocelyn has shown me that with patience and resilience, you can overcome everything and the aids that work with her. I have been a patient here for the past four years, and I must say, she always makes me happy when I see her. Thank you for having great nurses on the fifth floor.
