My partner was admitted thru the ER and treated for a pelvic fracture due to an accident. He was there for three nights. Although the care he received from all staff was great, Nurse Jovan Williams was exceptional. She was the charge nurse on this particular day. Unlike the charge nurses I observed on the previous days, she did not just stay behind the desk, instructing the other nurses. She was hands on! She was assisting with patients in various rooms all while keeping her crew on task in a professional manner. She was extremely pleasant and had a very gracious bedside manner. I was so impressed watching her and was not aware she was the charge nurse until we were ready to be discharged. She reviewed the discharge orders with me and really cared that I understood everything. She thoroughly answered all our questions and concerns. My partner needed the ambulance to transport him home, and she even helped the EMTs to ensure he was loaded properly and safely. We were so touched by how much she truly cares about her patients and we appreciate her service and strongly feel she should be recognized for going above and beyond.
