I am writing to nominate Jourdin, a Labor and Delivery nurse, for the DAISY Award. I firmly believe that Jourdin’s vigilance, skill, and compassion directly contributed to saving both my life and my baby’s. After laboring at home for several days, I arrived at the hospital hoping for a VBA2C. Jourdin was assigned as my day nurse, and from the moment we met, she offered steady encouragement, expertise, and emotional support as I pursued my birth plan. When my labor stopped progressing appropriately, she walked with me through the heartbreaking decision to proceed with another C-section. Her presence never felt rushed or impersonal—she truly made me feel heard and safe during such a vulnerable moment.

While preparing for surgery, Jourdin remained exceptionally alert. She closely monitored my baby’s heart rate and detected a sudden, critical change. Her calm response and quick communication with the medical team ensured immediate intervention. I have no doubt that her attentiveness and professionalism were the reason both my baby and I are here today.

Even after surgery, Jourdin continued to support me during recovery, helping me meet and bond with my baby for the first time. Her kindness, clinical excellence, and genuine compassion defined every interaction. She exemplifies what the DAISY Award stands for—extraordinary nursing care. Jourdin will forever be a part of my birth story, and I am endlessly grateful for her role in one of the most defining and lifesaving days of my life.
