Josh not only helped with the bedside drain placement with M that night but he also checked on me to make sure I was ok.
My husband M was in the SICU twice with meningitis. He almost passed away. Josh was M's first nurse when we arrived by EMS and he was admitted. Josh not only helped with the bedside drain placement with M that night but he also checked on me to make sure I was ok. He showed me where to get food and helped me understand why M was sedated and intubated, what his status was, and helped me especially when I heartbreakingly had to leave at the end of visiting hours.

Every time Josh was on shift I think he checked on us even if he wasn't assigned to M. When M was further in recovery, and he would push his call button a million times unable to remember where he was, Josh calmly and compassionately let him know what was going on. I always told M that when Josh was his nurse I could go to bed with a little less fear and worry that night. Josh is funny, relatable, compassionate, a listener, and an excellent nurse. I thank God for people like Josh.
