As a 4th time with COVID, and immunocompromised, a lot of nurses treat me like a leper. Josh did not. He could tell I was upset about having to be there, and, although he did his job professionally, ie. masking, gloving and gowning up, he went out of his way to make me feel like it was going to be okay.

He brought a sense of humor into a really stressful situation. He made me feel like a person, not a number or an illness. He came into the room when we needed to talk, others talked through the glass door, and was just an all around great nurse. I hope I don't have to go back, but if I do, I hope he is the nurse I get. Duke needs more nurses who go out of their way to connect with their patients like Joshua did.
