Josh is just such a sincere and kind soul who cares passionately about helping others.
Josh Harvey serves as the Clinical Educator in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) here at United Hospital Center. As a clinical educator on the OB unit, Josh and I have worked together on several emergent situations and every time, I am just so impressed by his knowledge, calm demeanor, and willingness to help.

Just after midnight back in July, Josh came to help us in the midst of an obstetrical emergency, as he has done numerous times. On this particular night, we were coding a newborn and needed help. We were unable to place an intravenous line in the baby and were running out of options. We called CCU and the ED to see if anyone could help. Josh and his charge nurse, Jess, came without hesitation.

They worked diligently to find a vein, even discussing other options to help us gain access. As always, Josh showed concern and compassion for the patient and the OB team as we struggled to save this baby. We call on him often when we are struggling and need an IV or help in emergent, as well as non-emergent situations. Even though I know he has his hands full in the CCU with his own critically ill patients, Josh is always willing to help in any way he can.

We know we can call on him and he will respond quickly and with a glad heart. Josh is just such a sincere and kind soul who cares passionately about helping others. It is evident in the way he engages and follows up with each situation. We are grateful to have such a wonderful relationship with him and others in the CCU.

As a leader myself, we need more Josh's in the world, not only to help save lives but to set the example for others on what a true nurse leader should be!
