I would like to commend Josh forecause the care and compassion he showed our son and our family will never be forgotten.

The day our son was hospitalized was the most terrifying day of our lives. We knew the next 24 hours were going to be crucial. Our son arrived on the floor late at night. The morning brought a lot of doctors, tests, and lots of monitoring. As a mom, I felt overwhelmed, but Josh brought a sense of calm and comfort into the situation.

What stood out the most was that even when our son was no longer his assigned patient, he continued to stop by just to check on him and see how our family was doing. He never had to, but he chose to. Those moments reminded us that our son wasn't just another patient; he was a little boy who genuinely mattered to him.

He was incredibly attentive, always noticing the little things and making sure our son's needs were met before we even had to ask. He had an amazing bedside manner; he was easygoing, approachable, and always made us feel comfortable asking questions. Even in such a stressful situation, his calm demeanor and reassuring presence helped put us at ease. He spoke to our son with kindness and treated him with dignity. His compassion extended beyond medical care.

One of the things that made Josh truly stand out was how genuine he was. He never made us feel like just another room on his assignment or another task to complete. He treated us like people first, taking the time to laugh with us, talk with us, and make real connections despite how busy he was. He was goofy in the best way, always had a smile on his face, and his laid-back personality made the room feel lighter during one of the darkest times in our lives.

At the same time, he was incredibly efficient and confident in his care. He found the perfect balance between professionalism and humanity, reminding us that exceptional nursing is about caring for the person and family behind the diagnosis, not just completing a list of tasks.

Nurses like Josh are the reason families find comfort during their darkest days. He embodies everything the DAISY Award represents, and we are forever grateful for the extraordinary care he gave our son.

Thank you, Josh, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
