He treated her as you would want someone to treat a loved one
Joey is an angel on earth. My sister A came to the hospital with a brain injury from a stroke. As a family, we weren’t sure what the outcome would be. Joey was her night nurse in the ICU. I spent all but 2 nights in the ICU with my sister, and every time Joey was there, I felt at ease. He always explained everything he was doing in ways that I could understand. He was always proactive in anticipating my sister’s needs. When he wasn’t assisting her, he was working on getting her medication ready or preparing for the next task. He constantly checked on me to make sure I was okay while I stayed overnight. I felt comfortable with him caring for my sister. He was always gentle with her, even though she was sedated and using a breathing tube. He treated her as you would want someone to treat a loved one. My only wish is that my sister had been awake while he was her nurse so that she could’ve met him. I bragged to her about him so much since she’s been awake that she really wanted to meet him to say thank you after she was discharged. I will forever be grateful for everything Joey did for my sister and my family. His care for A contributed greatly to her progress within the ICU. Having a sibling in the hospital isn’t easy, but having Joey as a nurse will no doubt provide great comfort and support. Please show him this and let him know that on behalf of A, her kids (J and E), her parents (Mr. and Mrs. H), and her sister (P), we would like to say THANK YOU JOEY!
