February 2026 Honoree
Jordan Moore, BSN, RN
There are nurses who are skilled, there are nurses who are compassionate, and then there are nurses like Jordan—the ones who carry something rare, something you can’t teach, something you feel the moment they walk into a room. She is, without question, one of those extraordinary nurses.
In Labor & Delivery, we see families on the happiest days of their lives and on the hardest. She has a way of meeting people exactly where they are—whether it’s in joy, fear, grief, or uncertainty—and offering a sense of safety that is almost impossible to describe but unmistakably felt.
I have watched her hold hands, steady trembling voices, advocate fiercely, and pour her heart into every patient, every baby, every moment. She treats every family as if they are the only one in the world, and she does it with such grace and tenderness that it stays with them long after they leave our unit.
But what makes her truly exceptional is the way she cares not just for patients, but for her coworkers. She is the person who shows up for everyone around her without being asked. On the darkest, most overwhelming shifts—the ones that feel like they will break you—she becomes the light in the room. She brings calm to chaos. She brings warmth to the coldest moments. She brings sunshine when everything feels heavy. And she does all of this quietly, selflessly, without ever expecting recognition.
I have seen her lift others up when she, herself, was carrying her own weight of life’s challenges. I’ve watched her offer support, understanding, and genuine compassion to coworkers who needed someone safe to vent to or someone who simply cared enough to listen. She never makes anyone feel like a burden. She never rushes someone’s feelings. She shows up with empathy every single time.
She is the kind of nurse who goes home knowing she gave everything she had—and then somehow comes back the next day with even more to give. Her presence makes this unit better. Her heart makes this profession better. And her patients, their families, and her team are better because of her.
The DAISY Award was created to honor extraordinary nurses, the ones whose impact is deep and lasting. She embodies every one of those qualities. She represents the true spirit of nursing—compassion, strength, selflessness, and unwavering dedication.
She is more than deserving. She is extraordinary. She is the definition of what the DAISY Award stands for.
