I truly believe that Jordan is the reason that my labor ended with a natural birth and not an emergency C-section.
Nomination #1:
Jordan was so amazing at taking care of me while I was in labor. She made sure to time my epidural with my medication. As I was breathing through my pain, she was so sweet to my very talkative four-year-old. Once I received my epidural, the baby’s heart rate would drop with every contraction. Jordan was so calm, which in turn kept me calm and confident that my baby and I were in the best hands. She went out of her way to include my four-year-old throughout the process and even included her in “feeding” mommy and stopped a tantrum once. My birthing experience was blessed with Jordan. Thank you, DCH, for having someone who is as caring and thoughtful as Jordan on your team. I truly believe that Jordan is the reason that my labor ended with a natural birth and not an emergency C-section. Thank you, Jordan, for making my birth experience so wonderful. When I could have been a nervous wreck, you were my rock.

Nomination #2:
My induction unexpectedly got moved up a week, leaving the unit with one less nurse. Jordan volunteered to pick up the shift, including arranging childcare for her kids, and took care of me as well. She took the best care of my baby and me. She was constantly coming into the room to make sure that she was doing everything necessary to ensure my baby’s wellbeing before he was born. As an OB nurse myself, it is hard to let go and not constantly look at the fetal heart rate during labor. I knew that Jordan was paying closer attention, which allowed me to rest. After my baby was born, she made sure to tailor my care to my schedule and not her own. She is an excellent nurse who genuinely cares about her patients. She forms strong relationships with her patients. She picks up overtime often and is a definite team player on the OB unit. Her patients and coworkers are lucky to have her.

Nomination #3:
Jordan was our nurse while I was giving birth and staying in the hospital with my baby. She was very sweet and extremely helpful. She took amazing care of us and was happy to answer any questions and even gave helpful suggestions. Honestly, it felt like talking to a good friend.
