Jonnie Kahn, 2E oncology nurse manager, is the best manager I have ever worked for. She is kind, authentic, and engages with her staff in a way that inspires you to reach your full potential. Her hospitable demeanor makes her approachable and engaged as questions or issues arise. Jonnie is always considering how to build up her team, providing the best opportunities for growth and development through education, the professional advancement ladder, and leadership opportunities. She prioritizes the needs of her staff and patients over her own career or reputation.

Jonnie's dedication to teamwork and patient advocacy is unwavering. She listens to our needs, provides encouragement, and helps us improve. Her compassion and empathy are evident in her interactions, making her the best manager anyone could ask for. She genuinely cares about our patients' safety and comfort, continuously checking in with all staff to ensure that unit needs are met. She is trustworthy, comforting in difficult situations, reliable, extremely knowledgeable, and absolutely amazing.

Jonnie remains calm during emergencies, bringing peace to chaos, and regularly jumps in to help whenever she can. She is deeply loved by her staff, and I am proud and privileged to be on her team and to learn and grow under her leadership. If there was ever a person deserving this award, it would be Jonnie.

Jonnie encourages staff to take an active role in unit decision-making, management of care, and patient outcomes. She utilized her vast knowledge of chemotherapy and passion for best practice to implement a chemo administration certification program and a chemotherapy reaction protocol, which nurses had been requesting for years. This protocol enhances staff confidence and allows oncology nurses to manage chemotherapy reactions more effectively and promptly, significantly improving patient care during oncologic emergencies.

Jonnie is an excellent example of what it means to be a leader in nursing. Her passion for patient care drives her to advocate for her team so they can deliver the best outcomes for patients. Her compassion and empathy for her staff do not go unnoticed. She advocates for us and always goes to bat for us. We couldn't do it without her, and she deserves nothing but the best.
